Bodegas Escorihuela Gascon Rosaura Malbec 2024
This wine originates in the heart of Agrelo, Mendoza, one of the most renowned wine regions for producing elegant, high-quality wines. Escorihuela Gascón. The strategic location of our vineyard, with vines over 35 years old, at the edge of Alto Agrelo in Luján de Cuyo, is fundamental to its microclimate. This characteristic allows the cool winds from the Andes Mountains to concentrate in the vineyard, creating a cool climate and a remarkable temperature range. Furthermore, the hill to the east of the region acts as a natural barrier, providing protection and creating an optimal environment that fosters great expression and elegance in the grapes. The choice of block 14 of our estate for this wine is based on the characteristics of its soil, which, although generally homogeneous and with profiles ranging from clay to sandy loam, in this block an ancient riverbed, notably rich in stones, contributes to a unique concentration of flavors. Vinification took place in stainless steel tanks. A 48-hour cold pre-maceration was performed before fermentation, followed by controlled fermentation at temperatures below 28°C, preserving the freshness and aromatic purity of the fruit. Malolactic fermentation then occurred. Only 85% of the wine underwent aging for 12 months in 225-liter oak barrels and 7,000-liter foudres. This process imparts roundness, spicy notes, subtle toasty aromas, and a silky texture to the wine. You can keep the wine for 10 years.
